Administrative Council

The Administrative Council consists of members elected by the General Meeting and the state groups, it meets at least annually.

Born 1950, graduated as Diplom-Volkswirt (economics degree) and took a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University Bonn, professional examinations as Steuerberater and Wirtschaftsprüfer 1982 and 1984, General Partner Dr. Dienst & Partner KG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, Honorary Professor at the Fachhochschule Koblenz (Koblenz University of Applied Sciences) since 1996, since 1995 member of the Administrative Council and Chair of the Rhineland-Palatinate state group, Chair of the IDW Administrative Council since October 2011.

Schmidt, Stefan
Deputy chair

Born 1962, graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann (business studies degree) and took a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) in 2000 at the Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster, professional examinations as Steuerberater [licensed tax advisor in public practice] in 1993 and Wirtschaftsprüfer [German public auditor] in 1995, since 2002 partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Frankfurt/Main, since 2007 member of the IDW Administrative Council, since October 2011 Deputy chair of the IDW Administrative Council.

Responsibilities of the Administrative Council:

  • Election of the non-executive members of the Board of Directors

  • Election of a Chair of the Auditing and Accounting Board

  • Fixing the budget

  • Issuance of the bylaw regulating membership fees

  • Approval of the annual financial statements and the annual report

  • Ratification of the decisions of the Board of Directors

  • Appointment of the auditor

  • Appointment of honorary members and members of the Relief Fund Supervisory Board

  • Establishment, relocation and closing state business offices
